Sony PlayStation Portable PSP handheld console first back for the first time at the E3 route announced in 2003 and their first branches in Britain arrived in September 2005.

Almost four years later and a bit small, and Sony has finally brought a version of the hand of the PSP, made the unpopular Universal Media Disc (UMD) format for digital download through its online store.

The PSP is Sony’s attempt to benefit from the immense popularity of the PlayStation 2 during the movement into a new market – and that was almost one of its number one competitors in the world of games from Nintendo.

And it’s easy with hindsight to say that Nintendo “disruptive” strategy with its lower cost, dual touch screen device has grown much more popular than considerably higher-spec and more expensive Sony option, the truth is that Sony still managed to carve out a significant market for itself with the PSP lighter, faster and sexier.

Perhaps the biggest problem is with both the original models of the PSP, and just about all the different iterations of the updated Nintendo DS over the past five years (including the new DSi) is that while that they rightly be described as a handheld portable consoles, they could not be really ‘pocket are well described.

Unless you favour cargo pants with immense-O-pocket styling.

Until now, the reason is that the immediate benefit of GB Sony PSP is the fact that there are tiny enough to fit comfortably in the pocket of a loose-fitting jeans, not too embarrassing bulge.
